Kimono aficionado Hitomi Harama will present a historical talk and presentation, revealing the unwritten rules of wearing the traditional kimono. By showing projected images and actual kimonos, Harama-san will demonstrate how the kimono can be coordinated by textile fabric, pattern and colour to suit the season and the occasion. Currently in Victoria, Harama-san is dedicated to consulting and educating people about the kimono and its culture: she has curated for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, acted as kimono consultant for Pacific Opera, and works as a kimono wardrobe stylist for film and theater productions.
